Wraparound Services
Wraparound provides specialized in-home services to children and their families/caregivers that are designed to meet the unique needs of each child. Wraparound works to help families strengthen and develop the adaptive and coping skills they need to maintain or restore their child's ability to function in the community. The Wraparound program recognizes that parents are in charge of their families and services are provided to support, encourage, and assist them in their parenting role.
A family may benefit from Wraparound services if a child:
- refuses to go to school
- runs away
- disobeys family rules
- is on probation
- is facing criminal charges
- has a history of psychiatric hospitalization
- is experiencing problems with self-esteem, anxiety or depression
- exhibits difficulty in socializing
- has trouble with independent living skills
Every family has resources and strengths that can be utilized to improve overall functioning. Through observation and analysis of the family structure and relationships, family members may become more insightful as to how certain symptoms/patterns of behavior serve a particular function and use this as a springboard for change.
The following services are available:
- In-home therapy - individual, family and couples therapy provided by Master's level clinicians.
- In-home Behavioral Assistant - to help the child regain control over disruptive behavior.
- Mentoring - one to one mentoring for youth experiencing behavior and mental health problems, as well as children/youth affected by difficulties in the home.
- Independent Living Skills Training - includes an assessment to determine the need for independent living skills. An individualized curriculum will be developed and taught by a Case Manager.
