Outpatient Department
The Outpatient Department serves a wide range of consumers including persons experiencing life difficulties, those who have serious mental illness, children and families referred because of abuse and neglect, adult and adolescent substance abusers, older adults, emotionally disturbed adolescents, and persons involved with the courts.
Outpatient services are delivered by an interdisciplinary staff that includes psychiatrists, social workers, masters' level clinicians, family therapists and advanced practice nurses.
The Outpatient Department provides general brief solution therapy as well as psychiatric services. It also provides specialized services, which include:
- General therapeutic counseling for children, adults, and families
- Psychiatric services and medication monitoring for children and adults
- Substance abuse counseling
- Mentally Ill Chemically Abusing (MICA) counseling
- Therapy for persons who have serious mental illness
- Therapy for children and adolescents
- Fire evaluation for children and adolescents
Referrals for outpatient therapy are accepted from social service providers, healthcare providers, hospitals, schools, police, and emergency service providers. Consumers can also self-refer.
The services provided by the Outpatient Department are funded through private insurance companies, Medicaid and Medicare, fees, the United Way, and grants. The department also uses a sliding fee scale (based on income) to determine fees.
