Gateway Home
Gateway Home is a 24-hour therapeutic, supervised living program for adolescent males age 13 - 18 that works toward family reunification, family reconciliation, and/or preparation for the next step in an individual plan of care. The program offers food; shelter; remedial tutoring; behavior management/improvement techniques; individual, family and group psychotherapy sessions; and social skills training. Gateway Home offers a clean, safe environment that is conducive to raising self-esteem in the boys who live there.
In addition to providing basic necessities, Gateway Home offers structure and support for troubled youth by a staff of caring human service professionals. The program is multi-faceted, allowing staff to address the adolescents' emotional and behavioral problems in a comprehensive manner. Gateway Home staff also works closely with other individuals and agencies, such as DYFS and Probation to ensure appropriate treatment while at Gateway and upon discharge.
Successful completion is relative to every child and consists of an honest attempt to cooperate with the program and work on individual therapeutic goals. Gateway hopes every child who completes the program will feel as if he has been cared for and nurtured while experiencing limits and structure that help to prepare him for the challenges of everyday life.
