Children's Mobile Response and Stabilization System
The Children's Mobile Response and Stabilization System provides time-limited crisis intervention to children and youth exhibiting emotional or behavioral disturbances that threaten to disrupt their current living arrangements. The program is family oriented, using an individualized approach and focusing on strengths and needs.
All children and youth residing in New Jersey are eligible for this service. In each case, the crisis must be severe enough to potentially end the living arrangement but not severe enough to warrant screening at a designated screening center.
Response workers intervene within one hour from the time of referral and provide initial services for up to 72 hours. During this time, they work with the youth and family/caregivers at the site of the crisis to develop an individual crisis plan for stabilization and ensure that crisis stabilization interventions are available in the home setting for up to eight weeks. Response staff also works with the youth and family/caregivers to develop community-based support systems that will remain in place after stabilization intervention ends.
To request the Children's Mobile Response and Stabilization System, you may call the statewide toll-free hot line to access the system at 1-877-652-7624. Response intervention is available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
